Shen Yun Recension: Chief Charles A. Taku, Lead Counsel at International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
“Actually what touched me was when a group of armed men came to violate the rights of some citizens whose only crime was that they were practicing their tradition, their culture, their traditional healing, and living their way of life, a very peaceful way of life. And they came to attack them, brutalize them, to destroy this culture and tradition. [They] were not into, the police, this culture or tradition. Now the actions of these citizens, for me, were very very teaching, were very touching. They didn't fight back with brutality or trying to harm or kill. But they merely were very pedagogic, they merely tried to help them, to educate them. At the end, what prevailed was that some of these armed men were educated, they changed! They came to appreciate this culture and tradition. I think it was very very, very very touching indeed and I think that this way of life should be encouraged not just for China but for humanity. ”
